Philosophy Of Music
Music sets the tone for worship. Likewise, music tunes our hearts to sing the grace of our blessed LORD and Saviour Jesus Christ. While speaking with the woman at the well, Jesus said:
Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship; for salvation is of the jews.
But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshipers shall worship the Father in spirit and truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
God is spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit And truth. John 4: 22, 23, & 24
Knowing that music is an easily accessible doorway whereby we may enter the spiritual realm, Paul further admonishes us saying:
And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;
Speaking to yourselves in Psalms and Hymns and Spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; Ephesians 5: 18, 19
Having been caught up into paradise--- the third heaven (II Corinthians 12:2, 4) Paul knew and recognized the tremendous power of music and knew what was written of Elisha, the prophet of old; for, Elisha had said:
But now bring me a minstrel. And it came to pass, when the minstrel played, that the hand of the Lord came upon him. II Kings 3: 15 (minstrel: to make music, musician Strongs: 5059)
Therefore, music, a gift of the Father, transcends all earthly ideals and truly can be called the "universal language" of all nations, kindred, races and creeds.
